Hi my lovies! So sorry I’ve been MIA lately. This month has been crazy busy for me and I just got back from nine days in Florida. I had an absolutely fabulous time- one of my best trips ever! Great weather surrounded by great people.
Anyway, while I was away, I came across a few rock star products and I wanted to share with you guys. Hot weather should be arriving shortly in the northeast and these products were clutch for me in 85 degree Florida sun!
About a month ago, on one of my many adventures to Sephora, I had mentioned that I picked up the Ouai Hair Oil ($28). I’ve been using it since and I hadn’t really formed an opinion on it until I put it to the test on vacation. Let me give you a little background story on my current hair situation. My hair is naturally dry, frizzy and wavy- the perfect storm for gigantic, unmanageable hair in humid conditions. I don’t know what the problem is but whenever I’m on a tropical vacation, my hair gets super dry and no matter how much heat styling I do, it frizzes up immediately and loses it’s style when I step outside. Maybe it’s the ocean breeze but this never happens to me in New York. To speed things up, this time around, I brought the Ouai Hair Oil and OMG it is amazing! After washing my hair, I apply three to four pumps in my hands working it mainly on the ends and then brushing it through. Now, I would like to put a little disclaimer out there that under normal circumstances, I can’t stand hair oils. I hate the way they make my hair feel. My hair is oily enough and they usually just weigh my hair down and make it greasier sooner. This stuff however, is so lightweight and non-greasy. You don’t even feel like there’s oil in your hair but it made my hair so soft and tamed the frizz as much as possible.
Another product I would like to mention is the Farsáli Rose Gold Elixer ($20). I’ve been loving this product but it really shined while I was on vacation. I hate to admit it but I’m a tanaholic. I try not to tan my face as much but I do like to get a little tan while on vacation. With that being said, I slightly ended up burning my face and my nose and forehead started to peel a little bit. I hate applying makeup when my face is peeling-it just looks patchy and gross. I applied this stuff right after the shower all over my face and it made my skin so even and smooth before foundation. I was able to skip using primer. It also gives you a super hydrated look with a natural glow- perfect for vacation and the hotter months! On the downside, I really wish this stuff smelled better. It almost has a fishy scent but once you apply makeup over it, the smell goes away.
Lastly, while I was down there, I ran out of foundation and I didn’t feel like making a trip to the mall to go to Sephora. I am not one for drugstore foundations but there is literally a drugstore on every corner in Florida so I caved and picked up the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow ($14) and I can honestly say I am loving it. For the price, it is a really high-quality foundation. If I recall correctly, the makeup artist who did my makeup for my sisters wedding used this foundation on me and I’ve been curious about it ever since because my skin looked flawless that day. I’ve also heard a lot of beauty bloggers talk about it and mention how great it was. It blends in really nicely and makes your skin look naturally flawless. I would say it’s definitely not a full coverage foundation but it’s perfect for vacation and warm weather. I can’t stand when foundation’s feels heavy on my face when it’s hot out. They also offer a large range of colors to match every skin tone which is great for me because during the spring and summer my skin varies in shades. I know they also offer a matte version and a full coverage version of this foundation and I’m curies to try those. If anyone has given them a try, leave a comment down below and let me know what you think!
I’m going to sign off now until next time! Xoxo
